Why won't readyboost work on my flash drive?

ive got a Patriot Xporter XT Extreme 4Gb which are listed as one of the best drives for vistas readyboost

but the option is not showing up.

do i have to format it?

if so what type fat32 or ntfs?

  1. you should check if it's ready boost compatible by clicking right open properties and there should be ready boost check field ( I have AData and it's FAT32 format ) . I know it will sound stupid bur are you using Windows Vista ?


  2. I've got a Sandisk Cruzer which had to formatted in NTFS before it was recognised as Readyboost capable.
