  1. The restaurants that give coupons want you to come on the off days.  The reasoning is that they give you a discount and you will come back again.  Since Saturdays and holidays are the busiest times in a restaurant, there is no need to drum up business by offering discounts.  I have seen a few that will let you use coupons on Saturdays as long as you dine before 6pm.

  2. They have to take it unless it's stated otherwise on the coupon, check the small print.

  3. Coupons are a way to promote business on slow days.

They effectively lower the prices to get you in the door.

Business is good on Saturdays & Holidays.

  4. Saturdays and Holidays are usually busy times for the restaurants. The purpose of coupons is to generate more business, not to give money away. Because they have enough business on Saturdays and holidays, they sometimes don't accept coupons. However, there are many restaurants that do accept coupons at any time of the year.

  5. Because that is usually when they are the most busiest. So since many people come that day, they want to get even more money. They want to attract a lot of people to come not only on Saturdays and Holidays, but other days too. So if they have coupons to be used on weekdays, a lot of people will come on weekdays.

  6. Those are the peek days restaurants are really busy, so they dont need the business.

  7. because those are the busiest days and they want to make all the money they can on those days to make up for the slow days of the week.....they use the coupons during the weekdays just to get people in there at the slower times

  8. I think it is because they are so busy and they want to make a lot of money on those days.

  9. Those are already the busy times.  Coupons are intended to increase business on the not-so-busy nights.  It's as simple as that.

  10. b/c the point of courpons it to get people in on slow days

  11. Most restaurants are busy on these days, so they don't need to bring in business with coupons.  If they can sell a table full of food for full-price, they don't need to attract customers with coupons.  The coupons are valid on the slower days, when they need to bring people in.

  12. saturdays and holidays are very busy for restaurants as it is, they don't need extra customers, they want you to come in when it's not so busy, especially because customers who use gift certificates, coupons, tend not to leave good tips.

  13. Everytime a restaurant runs an ad or joins one of those free advertising and can sell to consumers a reduced fee coupon online, restaurants lose money.

I recently shut down my restaurant and realized that on our highest volume nights (weekends & holidays), we were giving $900 a day away.  Now if you spent $900 a day, could you pay employees, rents, utilities, etc.

Also, with coupons, most people will run wait staff and not give full gratuity on the full value of a meal.  So when you do a buy one get one free, you may get tipped on 1 entree....So our wait staff also give free service and are losing money working with coupons.

You can't afford to give away during high volume times..Coupons are for when you have slower volume, so to give something away to pull in new customer base is really why daily specials and coupons are used.

    I hope this helps...

  14. Some will,its upto the owner-complain.

  15. because they will lose money because its the time of week, month, or year when they are the busiest...good question!

  16. What restaurant would that be?  I have coupons for Dennys and there is no limitations on it, I have used it on weekends
