I'm trying to download a flash template but it's not working. It's a zip file and it says decompression failed. Is it my computer or the file that is faulty? I have a Mac. Any help would be GREAT! Thanks!

I need a free template for my photography studio website. So if you can find anything else like this it would be GREATLY appreciated! =)

  1. Try decompressing it with the command line utility, which indecently is what the OS uses I believe, but we can use its more verbose features to see why its failing.

Open terminal, I usually just use spotlight  Apple + Space and type terminal.

Once terminal is open navigate to your where the file is stored, granted you are using defaults for your web browser your file will be stored on the desktop so:

    cd ~/Desktop/

    unzip -v fileName

The terminal will print out its procedure. If you still don't find anything useful the file is corrupt.

PS I downloaded and tried unzipping using the same method on my Mac and found an error, so the file may be corrupt from the get go. I could of just told you this to begin with, but whats the fun in that.
