Why won't this song add onto my ipod?

Question

i have 3 songs that i'm tying to load onto my ipod nano but when i drag them onto my ipod it comes up with a message saying "some of the files cannot be copied to the ipod because they cannot be played on this ipod".

it says it's an mp3 format which is what it should be.

also....normally when i double click on one of these three songs so that it will play in windows media another message comes up saying it might not play but then when i tell it to try anyway it works.

oh and these three songs i dowloaded off the artists myspace.

convert them to M4A i think it is on www.media-convert.com

These songs probably are illegal and that is why you are unable to download these songs onto your ipod maybe try putting them in itunes then moving them into your itunes library

Ok the person above is half wrong. All the songs on my iPod are illegally downloaded and they all play correctly (except the song low by flo-rida). But they are right about iTunes. Use iTunes, not Windows Media Player/Center.
