Why won't we Comcast Cable box work?

I moved my Comcast Cable box from one room, to the room RIGHT next to it, and now it won't work. I mean, the dispaly pops up, but none of the channels come through. It's all black, and every channel is listed as 'To Be announced.'

Why won't it com through?

  1. It  takes awhile maybe 5-10minutes for the box to reload after having the power disconnected.

    Be sure all the connectors are tight.

    If not that then:

    It sounds as if the jack you have connected to is dead.

    To verify, can you connect the cable directly to the TV and get service?

    By pass the box all together. wall jack to the TV.  

    If no picture then contact your service providers help desk.

  2. ur box needs a refresh sent to it. jus call up customer service and they can send a refresh to it over the phone, if that doenst help, they will send a hit to it, pretty much a harder refresh, think of it as if u were to ping ur comp. if all that doesnt work, u possibly have a non-responder, meaning it can not respond back to the headend due to low signal or no signal.

  3. Make sure all of the connections are connected properly. Then, you need to call Comcast to refresh your cable box.
