  1. Intolerance is something that can be changed. I am intolerant against murderers, for example.

I'm tolerant against things that can be changed, like nationality.

The "idea of tolerance" is not flawed, in other words.

You're just trying to give reason to your ignorance. Don't be ignorant. Learn.

  2. Wow. Just read through like 20 of the answers to this question and the various forms of the words tolerate and intolerance have stopped registering in my mind as words.

    Thanks guys.

Anyways. Why don't we all leave each other alone? Everyone can be tolerant. Let's make it a party!

  3. Intolerance cannot be tolerated as it the polar opposite, intolerance wants to deny rights while condemning and oppressing other human beings. Tolerance allows each of us to lead our lives without the undue interference of others.

Tolerance is giving to every other human being every right that you claim for yourself.

    ~Robert Green Ingersoll

Tolerance implies no lack of commitment to one's own beliefs. Rather it condemns the oppression or persecution of others.

    ~John F. Kennedy

  4. I hate that word "tolerance."

We should go back to calling bigots BIGOTS.

    WTF???????

You don't want to call ignorant sexist racist people "bigots"?!

WTF is the matter with you people.

  5. But I am!

  6. because intolerance can't be tolerated as tolerance means to tolerate untolerative people who don't tolerate tolerance but they do tolerate toliranca

  7. Just because we do not want to put up with your intolerance does not make us intolerant ourselves.

  8. whatever

  9. Tolerating intolerance is intolerable!!!  :@)

  10. Because it's sinful, immoral and unamerican.  Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi didn't tolerate it.  Abolitionists, women demanding the right to vote and those against segregation didn't tolerate it.  You never tolerate intolerance--you confront it, speak up against it, strive to change it and never allow it to go unchallenged.

  11. I couldn't care less what you think, but if you use your intolerance to infringe on my rights, d**n right I will be against you. Yes you have the freedom of speech, but your rights end where my nose begins!

  12. so were you expecting perfection? nothing is...even the notion of equality is flawed but your perspective of tolerance is referring to 'extreme tolerance', pple wont tolerate hatred, ignorance, bigotry bla bla bla WhatEver!!!

  13. Tolerate intolerance?

That's a contradiction of terms. There's this thing called "mutual respect". It pretty much gives someone the right to be disrespectful, should someone disrespect them.

You can't expect people to show respect and not show any back. Because if everyone in the world would be like that, NO ONE would get respect.

  14. it does, but we wouldn't be intolerant of your intolerance if you weren't intolerant to begin with. ;)

edit: how so? i'm not the one asking the question.

    edit: i like Chris' post.

  15. Why won't you tolerate my intolerance for your intolerance for my tolerance?

    SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

  16. I'm tolerating it, but I don't like it.

  17. I get what you're saying:  People who are "tolerant" are intolerant of intolerant people, making it a very hypocritical situation.  I think true tolerance is the acceptance (not embracing) of other viewpoints.  I try not to judge people who are intolerant, but it is actually very hard.  The key is limiting tolerance to include a willingness to coexist peacefully, yet also respect the desire to maintain separate identities.

But of course, everyone is going to think that only THEY are right, so the world will never be truly tolerant.

  18. You can do or be whatever you want it doesn't effect me.

  19. well, it depends on what your tolerant about. if you are tolerant someone raping someone else, i actually find that as intolerant. if you are intolerant of someone else's beliefs, then i think that is intolerant.

if someone harrases someone else do to the harassers beliefs that is intolerant.

  20. Because this is the g*y section and we want to talk amongst ourselves in peace and be left alone.

We take enough shlzzy from our everyday lives. I don't get why str8 ppl hang around this section like ghouls anyway.

Nobody ever said I had to be tolerant of you or anyone else.

I don't get it when str8 ppl say things like,

"If you people want tolerance then you should have to put up with all of my senseless raving".

Who said we ever asked for tolerance and who EVER said we get it because we don't.

g*y kisses are pulled from primetime TV slots, Parents throw their children into the street.

Just recently some str8 guys got out of a car and beat g*y people with a metal pipe right by my house,

then when the cops came they beat the g*y people some more and arrested them, one guy had to get stitches (the str8 people got away).

Man I sure am enjoying all of your benevolent tolerance. It's like you're saying,"str8 people allow you people to survive most of the time, you should be grateful".
