Why wont he propose??

Question

I have been with my boyfriend for almost 4 years and he has not proposed yet. I was wondering what you all think about this?? We talk about it sometimes but still no engagement! Both of our families keep asking us when we will get engaged. We are both really happy, we have a home together and are both going to school but I keep wondering deep in my mind if he thinks I am the one...please help!! Why wont he propose to me!??

He's just totally comfortable with shacking up and to have everything he wants as it is - so he has no want nor need to get married. It's pretty simple, you two aren't a match for marriage. If you want something different, you move on...

This is going to sound really bad to you, because this is probably the way you were raised, but I've actually heard a lot of guys say "Why pay for what you can get for free?" This guy has all the perks of being married without the commitment- he's in heaven. Men are natural commitment-phobes... I know you don't want to believe that about the man you love, but trust me, it's the truth.

It all sounds old fashioned, but research actually indicates that couples who live together before marriage are actually MORE likely to get divorced than those who don't. Something to think about.

he's probably not ready for it yet. maybe he feels like he still needs to do his "things" in life, like adventure or something. because once you get married, that's it.

you should talk to him and ask him if you guys want to get married now, so there's no misunderstanding.

like for me, i'm also in a 4 year relationship. i want to get married right now, as well. we talked about it, but we're not ready yet, cuz we still have to do some things in like, going to school and having a stable job and being ready financially.

my point is... talk to him and things will be okay :)
