When i click on the icon to update it on my psp, it acts as if it is loading up but then it waits there for a minute or two then shuts off and basically reboots my psp. It doesnt say its updated though. I currently have 3.1 M33 and im trying to update to 3.71 M33-4. My emulators run perfectly though. Any suggestions as to why its not working?

  1. may be you have done something wrong

First of all, you'll need to be able to connect to the Internet. Follow our guide to set up a wireless connection. Done that? Scroll all the way left on your home screen then all the way to the top of the menu. Make sure Network Update is highlighted and press 'X'.

Select the name of the connection you want to use and press 'X'. The PSP will connect to the Internet and tell you if an update is available.

If no update is found everything is fine and you can stop now and play some games. Hooray! The rest of you need to make sure your memory card has 21Mb or so free space (update sizes vary a little). You do? Press 'X'.

The update will begin downloading. This may take a while, depending on your connection. Just be sure to leave your PSP on and everything will be fine.

Once the download is complete press 'X' to begin the update. Your PSP will reset and reload with the update programme running.

Press 'X' to start the update then press 'right' on the D-Pad to accept the licence agreement. Read what's in the update and press 'right' one more time. Press 'X' to begin updating. It is vital you don't unplug or turn off your PSP until the process is complete; you could  cause a lot of trouble
