Question:

Why wont mold grow on a piece of bread i sprayed with liquid its for a project?

For my science project im studying how certain types of liquids affect mold growth so i put pieces of breads that i sprayed with the liquid 40 times into a ziplock bag inside a bin. IVe let the bread sit untouched for 14 days and still no mold has grown

  1. There may be preservatives in the bread (e.g., cinnamon, raisins, calcium propionate) or the pH, temperature or relative humidity may be outside the parameters for growth of the species of spores present.

    Or the liquid you used is not something that will support the growth of fungi.  Makes a difference if you're spraying water or Clorox!
