Why wont my 3rd phone work?

i have a set of 3 panasonic phones all cordless and the other 2 phones work perfectly but the one upstairs doesnt give a dial tone but i do hear white noise when i turn the phone on... ive checked the cord that plugs into the wall and the charger but what could be wrong with the phone? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Try to bring one of your phone(downstairs) and use it upstairs.

Observe if you will experience the same problem as that when using your third phone. If it can't get a dial tone too, call the telephone technician to fix your wall jack.

Try to use also your third phone(from upstairs) at your downstairs to confirm if your third phone has a problem or not.

According to your explanation, I suspect, the wall jack is the culprit or the tel line cord of the third phone.

It is possible that it is to far from the base. Try moving it closer to the base and trying it at intervals to see how close or far apart they need to be.

Do u plug all the phones into phone jacks or only one of them. if u have to plug only one into the phone jack and the rest feed off of it, then u either have a defective phone or u might be too far from the main phone, but if all of them go into the phone jacks then u might have either a defective jack or the wire feeding that specific jack might be defective.
