Why wont my Ouija board work?

Question

i feel kind of dumb asking this,because everybody says that to make the ouija board work you have to move it yourself,but i dont know if thats true or not..so,ive tried playing it many times with one of my friends and we both put in money on buying it at toys r us and we lit candles and played it at night,in a dark room,over and over again! and we put 2 fingers on it,lightly and asked the questions loud and clear... it still will not work! whats going on???

Oh my! I suggest you not to play ouija board. my uncle play it and the 'demon' who move the coin didnt want to 'go home' and make things hard.

you better play basketball or if you are interested in board game, go play chess or igo

Some people can make them work and some can't.  Possibly you and your friend are not susceptible enough to make it work.  You probably also have to really believe that something will happen.  The ouija board is just a game that you can buy in most toy stores and department stores, an ordinary piece of wood or plastic or cardboard.  It has no supernatural powers.  The people using the ouija board make it work.  It plays on your mind and imagination and your susceptibilities and beliefs and fears.  It can be scary because the imagination is a powerful thing, and can make you believe just about anything.  Here are a couple of links that discuss ouija boards and how to use them.

I honestly believe that only a rare few will experince the thing moving all on it's own if they are by themselves.  However, this is not a good thing because shortly afterward the person is possesed by a demon.  You know what makes a Ouija board magical for most?  The fact that someone is willing to mess around with you and everyone else when thye start moving it.  I mean really, is it only coincindence that it works when several people are moving the thing around?  I think the boards are evil but for the most part they are harmless.  I for example would be able to make it work because for some reasons demons are attracted to me like flies to a bright light.  This is not a good thing.

A ouija board isn't really a toy; it's intended to be a spiritual tool for those who are very, well, spiritual. If you just want to have fun with your friend, play Dungeons and Dragons.

I remember having one as a kid.  and as someone else said, having a bunch of girls around swearing it wasn't them is pretty much the idea.  you all say you are not moving it yet I think that subconsciously you all want it to work soooo bad that you are moving it without even realizing it. that is why it is such a surprise that it is moving.  I mean, don't you think that if it was really ghosts or some other power, that it would work with just one person playing it?
