I just brought these two baby bearded dragons three days ago from petco and did all the necessary checks to check for good health. When i first brought them back home they ate the first day with no problem. Its now day 4 and they wont eat anything. The temperature is up and i provide the right amount of uvb in the tank. I give them clean water and food everyday. I've tried different fruits, veggies and other brearded dragon foods from the pet store also. I'm very concerned and any advice will help me a lot and be truly appreciated.

  1. they have to get use to the new environment

  2. My bearded dragon was eating only vegetables on the first week. There were some days where she wouldn't touch her crickets at all.

There could be any number of reasons why, but just give them time to adjust to their new surroundings.

Part of the reason mine didn't eat was because I didn't have UVB lighting in my tank the first week. Be sure you have a UVB source in your tank.

Are you feeding them too big of crickets? Young bearded dragons should only have small ones, not medium sized crickets. The pet store I was getting all my stuff out didn't have any small crickets one week and I was forced to get medium sized, she wasn't eating them she was scared of them (thank heavens) so I just gave her freeze dried crickets that week. You should feed them medium sized after they're four to five months old.

Be sure your not feeding them pellets in place of crickets either, pellets are stuff that should be mixed with vegetables, otherwise they won't eat them.

  3. They may be one of a rare subspecies of bearded dragon that can only survive on a diet supplemented with human flesh.

You know now what you must do.

  4. They may just be stressed from the new enviroment, I admit I don't know much about bearded dragons but whenever I get new snakes I don't even bother feeding the snakes for 2 weeks (they can go months without eating, don't freak out) because they are stressed and won't eat anyways.

If you're really concerned that something is wrong, find a reputable vet with experience with reptiles and take them to get checked out!
