i have a 1984 chevrolet pickup which had a audiovox am/fm tape player that started messing up. i got a SPL cd and wired everything up correctly i am very sure of that. the cd player turns on and works great but when you turn the volume past 22 on the cd player the speakers start popping and skipping until you turn it back down to about 20 or 21. this makes it hard to hear since my truck hsa loud pipes. whats wrong???

are the wires bad

the speakers

and i know its not the cd player because i hooked it up in a 85 buick and turned it all the way up with no problems

  1. Go ahead and buy new speakers just not sony, or jbl. Thats the best option you have.

  2. you Just answerd it your self its your speakers there blown i suggest you get some bigger speakers or better brand like sony or alpine or do help with sound and there 6x9 get a small amp like an 200-300 watt amp an run your 6x9s of that and they will be louder and more bass
