Why wont my chicken walk

Question

my chicken hatched about a hour ago and all he does is lays on its side and cherp a little bit and does not walk like they are supposed to if anyone knows why he wont walk and just lays on its side answer please.

Hatching takes a lot of energy, so it's probably tired. It also could be very hungry, although that would not keep it from walking.

If it doesnt walk in the next 2 hours, it's your job as a mother to put him out of his misery by pecking his brains out.  Thats what mother hens do!

Oh My god . .  seriously what STUPID answers have been given so far!

right first of all chicks can walk within a few hours of hatching and are all fluffed out! . . . .  so at only an hour old It shouldn't be expected to be walking around proparly yet! . .  so that is probably what the issue is here . .  nothing to worry about

(although the fact it is lying on its side is a bit worrying to me)

But anyway .   make sure the chick is kept warm and in a day or two it can have its first meal and drink of water!

Otherwise the problem could be "spraddle leg" But that is not likely at this stage . .

Well its to young..i usto have a shitlaod of chickens and roasters. but we killed them off since we lived int he city...um takes bout 1day for them to fully start walking around atm its still trying to adjust to life...its new :P...

Mabey he would walk if you didn't have a Mc Donald sign next to him or he is basically saying hey you im a Mac Chiken come eat me.  Or he could be Ming Ming form the wonder pets so I wouldn't eat him just yet. Whats gonna work team work :) I mean Chiken work.
