Question:

Why wont my cockatiels breed??

im pretty sure the white one is a male and yellow female but they dont breed. i dont know how old they are only that the female is over a year old they fight when the get near each other and there is currently no nest box here are the pictures

  1. First they need a preacher to marry them.  Then they need a nest.  Have you checked under the females wings on her flight feathers for dot markings?  This will confirm she is a hen.

    sorry but i do not  know much abt them...

  3. Hi,

    With cockatiels then any colour except grey cannot be visually sexed as both males and females have the same colours. The only sure way to tell is to get hold of each bird, tip it on its back and then just above the vent place a finger or thumb, and then gently press down until you feel two bones. If the bones are almost touching then its a male and if they're far apart then its a female so the eggs pass through.

    This is the only sure way of knowing with cockatiel mutations.

    2 they could  be two males or two females

    3 weight two see if they lay eggs two see if they are two girls
