Why wont my computer come back on?

I pushed the power button and it sounded like it was going to come on when there was a loud pop through the speakers, then it was just dead. I can tell the monitor is fine, it's the computer itself, no noise at all, not even the fan. what do you think it is and is it fixable or should I get a new computer? Thanks for your help.

Wow hope you have back ups for your files. I sounds like it needs some repair.

Could be a bad motherboard. Depending on how old it is, you could get it repaired by a computer tech. Try unplugging it from the electrical outlet for a while & see if it will come back on.

it sounds like at the very least your power supply died on you.. if you have a small computer store that diagnoses for free it cant hurt to get a proper diagnosis.. if its just the power supply, its more than salvagable..
