Why wont my computer connect to the internet?

Question

ok, so i was playing an online video game on my laptop and went afk(away from keybored) to go eat, leaving me still logged in, i came back and my computer had restareted for an automatic update. i logged in and tried to go back to my game. it didnt connect, i closed the window and looked at my connection, connected fine, i then tried i.e that didnt work eather, so i restarted my computer.

it still wouldnt connect after restarting twice, so i unplugged the moten and router for 3 minutes.

still didnt work.

i tried repairing the connection, and it came up with cant renew your ip adress. limited or no connectivity. i have done all to my knowledge of fixing this.

2 other computers still connect, a desktop and another laptop. router shows signals of connection and when i restart my computer it connects untill i repair.

i think it might have something to do with the update and blocking my internet access.

(idk if game had something to do with it so i put it in there)

****EDIT**** New version of ZA is OUT!!! http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/free/1... - I've tried it and it does in fact work correctly now.

It sounds like your not getting an IP address from your router, what you should try doing is checking to make sure the cable is physically connected snugly in the computer and into the router. On the back of the computer where you plug it in, once pluged in your should see a "Link Light" which tells you its connected. That's what this sounds like to me.
