Why wont my computer pick up on my ipod?

i plugged in my ipod at my buddies house to show him a few songs and he updated it before i could tell him not tooo now all my 30gb video ipod does is sit there blinking every now and then when its plugged in to the computer, it wont let me hear music on it and itunes nor my computer will pick it up. im just trying to get everything back to normal what should i do? i doubt i can get them songs back but **** man at least my computer could do is read it when its plugged in. any clues to whats wrong i cant restore it iether cause my computer wont read it and niether would his.

  1. da best thing to do is call the apple store ...everytime something happens to my ipod i call da apple store and dey fix my problem right on da spottt... : ]  


  2. try buying a wall charger, and charging it up, then try to plug it into your computer again, if the apple symbol just lights up and goes off constantly, that may be your solution, if not, try the other USB's on your computer :)

  3. did you try rebooting hold down the menu and center button. Do you have the latest virsion of software for I pod and itunes? I'd u try rebooting comp, or unplug from comp untill it works? Hope this helped
