My computer is a Dell windows XP, 2005. The power button is just

blinking, acting like its trying to come on. I've looked at some of the

other questions and some people say that its the power pack/supply.

I've checked the chords, and re-plugged everything in.

  1. I would say, since your computer is older that your computer is over heating.Open your case and clean out the dust on your fan and heat -every wear.

Try this before you buy a new power supply.

OH! steve st is right-does your computer beep-if so check out this link to find out what your problem is.

  2. it may be that something is loose inside the computer (cable perhaps) or maybe something has burnt out.
