Why wont my ipod nano (3rd gen.) sync??

Question

ok, so i connected a different ipod by accident on my iTunes, and the next day when i tried connecting MY ipod, nothing happened, i just plugged it in and, again, nothing happened. HELP! I HAVE TO UPDATE!!!

I DONT REALLY NOE IF IT WORKS, because like i said, MY IPOD WONT SYNC! (help!!), and im pretty sure that didnt affect my iTunes, because i found out about it after i tried syncing my ipod...

reset it press menu and the center buttons at the same time until the apple appears
