Why wont my laptop run on my lcd hdtv made by...

When i plug in the VGA cable to both the tv and the laptop i turn on my tv then my laptop everything is working fune until windows actually starts up then my tv says ''no rgb signal the power will be turned off'' Please if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
