Question:

Why wont my monitor not come on when I fire up a computer??

I'd understand it if i had took the thing apart, but all i've done is unplug the computer, and bring it back to my house. lol

  1. Well, unless you dropped the monitor part of the computer in transit, there seems to be only one explanation to this enigma: you forgot to plug the video cable to the computer, also called VGA cable. You have to plug 2 cords into the monitor: VGA cable+power cable. Usually the VGA cable is black with blue endings if you have a LCD monitor, and off white/gray if you have a regular tv/style monitor(in this case the VGA cord is glued to the monitor side anyway).The power cord is either all black for the lcd type monitor, or off white/gray for the regular tv/style monitor.

    P.S.: if your computer happens to be a laptop, then you have a serious problem...
