  1. It's connected incorrectly to the power/fuse panel.

You want it to retain power when the key is off.

There may also be a rechargeable battery inside it.

  2. You need to run to constant power. You should have 2 wires for power. One should be blue maybe and one red. The blue you should have wired to constant power ie. your battery with a fusible link and the red you should wire to the radio fuse in the fuse block. I may be off on the colors , but the owners manual should tell you.

I'm guessing you have the red wire connected to the radio fuse already, which powers the radio, but the blue wire(or whatever color) is for the memory on your radio and requires permanent power.

  3. connect the memory from the back of your cd player to the memory connected coming from your car it should be a yellow wire or slot

  4. check your battery, have it tested, and then check for loose wires, then if that dont work, take it back to the installer and thell he or she to fix it!

  5. Sounds like it wasn't hooked up to a power source that is constantly hot.  Take it back to the installer and tell him to fix it.

  6. Ok, well first off, what brand is it? If it is a cheap and nasty, I would expect something like that to happen.

Now, as for why it does it. As I said, the actual unit itself could be the problem, but, assuming its a good brand there is a problem with the memory wire.

It should be wired straight to the battery, or a circuit that has constant power.

There is either a problem with the unit, or the fuse has blown in the memory line, or the memory wire has been wired to the wrong circuit or it has fallen out.

Any way, it will be under warranty, so take it back to the intstaller and have him fix it.

  7. it needs a constant hotwire straight 2 the battery

  8. Have your car battery checked, maybe there is an incomplete or loose connection.

  9. Something isn't wired correctly, take it back and have it re-installed correctly.

  10. I agree with bkg.
