Why wont my tan go away?

I went on holiday in december and got a really dark tan. Now its september and iv still got it. I dont go out in the sun that much either. Theres meditteranian people in my family..I dont know where they are originated from though.Im not complaining, but why wont my tan go away?

  1. Over time you will become less dark but that happens in the winter. The sun basically cooks your skin, just look at how a chicken changes colors when it's cooked.

    I went to Florida for 2 weeks and my tan lasted about a week

    Now I'm pale and unhealthy looking again.

  3. its because you might have oily skin, so when you get a tan its the sun rays that cause damage, and because you might have oily skin (even a little bit oily) your skin takes the sun rays in and the oils locks it in. which makes it last longer. so that is why your tan has lasted longer .
