Why wont my tomatoes go red on the plant ? Some are in greenhouse and some outside, neither goes red !?

  1. Just wait a little longer. If you pick them green they can't ripen on the vine. Picked green tomatoes ripen because they cannot grow anymore. I don't know of any that take a year to ripen or that you can plant in the winter.


  2. muffin z is wrong tomatoes do not take a year to grow I planted seeds in the green house in April they have fruit on them and you just have to be patient and they WILL ripen

  5. They will if you give them time and expose them to sunshine on or off the vine.  If you don't have the patience, you can make green tomato chutney.

  6. Well how long have you had the tamatoes it ussually takes up to a year for them to grow and then a couple of weeks to ripen

    also different types of tamatoe ripen at different times of year. make sure you water them regulary and for succsesfull tamatoes you have to have planted them in early winter
