Why wont my washer fill with water?

When I turn on my washer instead of filling with water it starts agitating.

  1. We JUST had the same incident at work with a washer. All we did was stick a pen in that little hole thats on the top rim. That will make the water fill up....if you understand what hole I'm talking about.

    P.S. you have to keep the washer open when you do this.


  2. Possibilities: The timer is bad; the water level switch and/or pressure control is bad.  As the water fills the tub, it goes up a tube, pushing the air in the tube ahead.  The level switch sets the pressure at which the control will shut off by the air pressure in the tube.

  3. Sounds like the  level sensor is messed up. it needs to be fixed. I'm not even gonna try  to explain it.

  4. You probably have sand or lint in the pressure tube that feeds the water level switch. Remove the tube from the switch(if you hear a click then what I think is right). Blow out the trash, put the tube back on the switch, and retry.
