Why wont my wheels on gocart stop spinning when I want to stop.

5hp Briggs and Stratton Motor. Fires up fine. But when I apply brakes its like im power braking. I have to kill engine to stop gocart. WHY? please help

yeah, mabey a bad clutch or it might need to be tuned down a little

Sound like the brakes are faulty and/or the throttle is sticking.  Your brakes should always have enough effectiveness to stop under full power, even in a car.
