Duh gave a great answer and just remember check your fire wall settings a lot a people have problems when using norton

Make sure you have the latest versions of Java and Flash (just search download flash/Java). Make sure ALL your sound controls are set to medium output and non are muted. Also check the outside of your computer box for a volume slider or wheel.

Restart after any installation.
