  1. They have a certain number of songs that they MUST play. It is called a play list. It is not under their control. They must play these songs. So if the song you request is not on the play list. It does not get played.

  2. it is the same question, I was asking either

the american young DJ´s are generally awful & fool.

  3. mabey they dont have the song

  4. No DJ actually plays requests of songs that are not on the playlist. You are fired almost immediately for that.

We're used to the old trick of "piling on", where different people request the same song within a short period of time.

I wish they'd quit soliciting requests, because what they do is record the telephone request of an already popular song, then play both the person's voice and the song.

Nobody varies from the playlist or they are out of work. It's computer generated, based on heavy research.

  5. Radio stations limit requests, even on request shows.  Two reasons apply.  The first is that there is a very good chance that a person will call and request a song that is already scheduled; therefore sounding like an instant request.

Second, only a small percentage of radio station listeners ever call the radio station, approximately 2%, and those people who request songs are more likely to switch stations after their song is played.  The radio station main mission is to keep you listening as long as possbile.  So to do this, the DJ's will say something like  'I'll try to get that on' or 'Its comming up', to keep you listening.

  6. The music at the radio station is pre-programmed and they might play your song if you request one that is already in the cue.  DJs have very little to do with actual requests, they just say things like " I will try to get that on for you." I should know, I'm a mobile DJ. :-)

  7. the thing is, (sorry to ruin radio for u) stations take request but really dont use them. they already have a premade playlist at hand and use that music. the request is just to make the listeners think they had something to do with it but in reality it means nothing. sorry

  8. TRY ANOTHER RADIO STATION

  9. They get HUNDREDS of requests for songs. They can only play the ones most requested.

OR maybe the D.J. just hates the song. or you.

BTW - they have these cool things now called stores that actually will sell you the c.d. Sounds crazy, I know. But it's true, I swear.

  10. i work at a radio station....every station has a set playlist for the entire day..... every song has to hit a certain number of spins for the day.... that's just they way the industry is.... the DJs don't pick/choose the songs to play ever... their is a program director that does all the programing for the station and that's who decides what songs play in what dayparts and how many times....

  11. well some radio stations dont have the song u request so that could be y
