Why wont the sound work on my dvd player?

i had watched a movie last night and everything was fine,then today the sound wont work,all the cords are plugged in,its not on mute and we have tryed restarting it and everything but still no sound,help please!

its probably turned off or broken.

the tv 's not muted the player is not muted have u tryed hooking it up to another tv see if u have sound u said u had a picture right if u have one single cable going from your player to the tv its muted somewhere but if u have the little white red yellow cables the white and red are for sound check them out see where there plug in at
