Why wont windows Service pack 2 update install?

Question

whenever i try to install windows service pack 2 update during the download page that pops up it stops, and after a while it says that it couldn't be installed. I have been able to install other windows updates, but not this one. can someone help? without this windows update i wont be able to add audio drivers to my computer because i just reformatted it.

Computer tech here.....If the Service Pack 2 shows up with other updates, it is best to skip the other updates and just install Service Pack 2 before you can install Service Pack 3. There is an alternative way to get Service Pack 2 installed. Go to this link here to download the full Service Pack 2 and then click on it's icon and it will automatically start to install from there: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

You can burn this Service Pack 2 setup file onto a blank CD for future use when you need to install it again. Good luck and hope this helps.
