Hi, I'm doing this for a research thing and I would really appreciate it if you would cite your reason (web page, document, etc.) or if you have a phD in something, include that.

about the question, the answer I'm looking for is China being a world leader in alternative energy and feeling like their position is threatened if the U.S switches to alternative energy.

again, its absolutely necessary for me to have a document or a piece of literature on this that I can cite.

feel free to email me. fizzie92@gmail.com

Thank you all!

  1. So it's a fictional story they want you to write?

Why not just make up stuff.  Isn't that what fiction is?

You could write that it is the year 3030 and China is making fuel out of rice and now the US is going to grow rice for fuel and no longer import rice from China.

Or maybe they make fuel out of teriyaki sauce. That would be cool, cuz you could use it as a dip if you're hungry.  Oh wait, that's more Japanese.

Just let your imagination run wild.  Good luck with it.

  2. "China being a world leader in alternative energy"

Please site the web site or document where you found this statement.  I have never been to China so I don't know first hand, but everything I have read shows they are not a world leader in alternative energy.  They did build those dams recently that prevent flooding and as a side line, provide hydro-electric power, but mostly they are using coal.  Check the profit of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.  They are making a mint hauling coal from the Power River basin in Wyoming to Seattle for transshipment to China.  Australia also sends them lots of coal.  I have read they are building one big coal plant a week.  They are also importing lots of oil for all the cars they are now making/using.

Therefore, I don't think they would feel threatened if the US adopted alternative energy.  The less coal we use, the more there is to ship to them.
