Why would Countrywide hire me but have me on contract with Trinet??

I know about the mortgage business and Countrywides issues. But I need a job and Bank of America took things over, so we'll see. I have an interview coming up with Countrywide, I was informed KB Homes Mtg and Countrywide are in a joint venture right now and I guess that would be my area. I was told I would be contract with them through Trinet, so I would work for Trinet. Trinet does all my benefits, payroll, etc- but Countrywide does all the hiring and firing. Should I be worried about working for Trinet and not Countrywide??

  1. Countrywide is probably saving on benefit expenses doing it that way.  Is it a contract to perm position?

  2. I see a lot of companies doing this nowadays. It really protects the company from a faulty employee as they can fire you at any time for any reason. They usually give a period of time, like 3 months, where they'll then evaluate your performance and then decide from there if they want to hire you, keep you as a contractor, or let you go.
