Why would Democrats, Obama in particular, be in support of a Card Check bill that infringes on worker privacy?

In all honesty, I don't know why Democrats are okay with the right for union heads to take away secret ballots for voting in unions or not. Democrats would rather employees produce a card to their union head of their decision and the union head knows how they voted. Why is this supported? What do I not understand about such a bill?

Rich people want to know what the poor people are doing, in case another Bastille day happens.

I wouldnt mind to know how votes are cast.

I wish we could all go online and see how our votes for our president and elected officials are counted.

The current way is subject to manipulation and fraud.  You trust that some agency is working hard to make sure things are safe and fair.  I have no such trust.

I assume you are a Republican.  What I don't understand is how you can have a Republican basically say to your face, "When I'm elected, I am going to take hundreds of millions of dollars from whomever.  Domestic or Foreign and then enact laws that will allow them to get wealthy from taking advantage of the American people.  I will also discourage any competition from interfering.  Democrats do this too.

And yet people wait in line to vote for them.  thats what i don't understand.  but I guess in the end, people get what they deserve

My best guess as to 'why' is that they feel that unions are entities separate from the government and are allowed to make their own rules.  There is no requirement that corporations hold a secret ballot to elect a CEO, so why should unions be forced to?  

There are many good reasons to have secret ballots, the only reason I can see for the government to refrain from forcing them is the idea that it is not the government's job to tell the unions how to run themselves.

Privacy means nothing when socialists see a new way to do an end run and get a whole new bunch of people to contribute to the cause against their will.

Democrats are all about taking your civil liberties, making you dependant on the government and controlling your behavior. they are in favor of smoking bans, 55mph national speed limit, id cards, everything that aims to control citizens behavior.
