  1. The Taurus was coming out shortly.

  2. Fords full sized car was always known as the Victoria model according to the VIN plate even when the Galaxie was released in 1959 to 1974, the Galaxie was an upgrade of the Fairlane. The LTD was introduced in 1966 a name plate of the Galaxie or the Victoria model. Same basic car just fancier, After they dropped the LTD name plate they went back to the Crown Victoria and the Grand Marquis for Mercury.  The 1955 and 1956 Fords were the Fairlane 500 and the Victoria and Crown Victoria.

It is a shame that Ford will probably only sell to fleets anymore for these cars. I own a 2002 Grand Marquis and love the car as far as I am concerned the only real American car left that looks like it was built in America.

  3. The LTD was cool indeed. But the Crown Vic came along and was a far superior car. The 84 LTD was a big beauty my dad had one we loved it.

  4. They didn't, they just changed the name to "Crown Victoria".
