Is this why?

If Allah has sealed the hearts of the Kuffar i.e. non-Muslims, then why are they to be blamed for not accepting Islam?

Answer By Dr Zakir Naik:

1. Allah has sealed the hearts of those who are continuously bent on rejecting the truth

Allah (swt) mentions in Surah Al Baqarah chapter 2 verses 6 and 7

"As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them Whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe.

Allah hath set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a veil; great is the penalty they (incur)."

[Al-Qur’an 2:6-7]

These verses do not refer to common Kuffar who reject faith. The Arabic words used are al-lazina kafaroo, those who are bent on rejecting the truth. It will not make any difference to such people whether you warn them or not, they will not believe. Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing and on their eyes is a veil. It is not because Allah has set a seal on their hearts that these kuffar do not understand and believe, but it is the vice-versa. It is because these kuffar are bent on rejecting the truth and whether you warn them or not they will not believe, that Allah has set a seal on their hearts. Therefore Allah is not to blame, but these kuffaar who are bent on rejecting the faith are responsible.

2. Example of teacher predicting a student will fail

Suppose an experienced teacher, before the final examinations, predicts that a particular student will fail in the exams, since the student is very mischievous, not attentive in class and does not do his homework. If after the student appears for the examination, he fails, who is to be blamed for the student failing: the teacher or the student? Just because the teacher predicted, it does not mean that the teacher is to be blamed but the student himself is responsible for his failure.

Similarly Allah (swt) knows in advance that there are some people who are bent on rejecting the faith and Allah has put a seal on their hearts. Thus these non-Muslims themselves are responsible for rejecting the faith and not Allah (swt).

Seems to be the reason. Cool.

  1. LIFE IS GREARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  2. Allah created the rebellious nature in people. Evil is therefore Allah's creation. If I dig a hole in the road, knowing full well that some will avoid it and some will fall in despite my warnings, who is responsible for this situation in the first place?

Zakir Naik needs to give a better explanation.

  3. Allah seals hearts and lives.

  4. i agree with mesun1408 WHAT I BELIEVE IN ONE GOD

  5. These verses that are in the begining of surah Baqrah, are sort of SUMMARY of the conclusions. The explanations are spread all over the Quran.

For a definition of "Those who are bent upon rejecting faith and the day of judgement" is in Surah 107.

Also note that the judgment is NOT issued or expedited in a matter of just seconds, minutes or days. Every Human and Jinn is given a grace period of 40 years (Ref. 46:15 to 18) to experience from the past examples and with the surroundings, before he/she decides her final course. It is this decision, upon which the final judgment of sealing the hearts and minds is issued.

  6. So the god of Muhammed has sealed my heart for not believing, and continuing not to believe?

    hmmm.

Isnt the god of muhammed supposed to be "merciful" as I have seen over and over in the Qu'ran and the Haddith?

    Seems pretty unmerciful to me.

Even ME, a scum sucking sinner DESERVING of h**l am more merciful than he.

  7. We were born with free will but Allah knows what our intents and everything we choose in life even before we do it.. Doesnt mean we cant change our lives, but he knows if we will or wont..

So when there is a reference to sealing hearts.. its for those hard hearted, black souled people that no matter what you tell them, they are not interested nor care one iota about religion..  Those are the ones that Allah tells us to not waste our time talking to them cause they wont listen no matter what... He knows they wont, so he seals them off anyways..

The others we can propagate Islam to.. Allah tells us that among the peoples of the book are true beleivers... Christians and Jews... we can talk to them and their hearts are not sealed... otherwise how would many people convert to Islam, and how would Islam be the fastest growing religion on earth right now?

    ^_^

  8. I've no idea what that means! How do you seal a heart except in a medical emergency?!

  9. true allah (swt) is all-knowing of what our futures hold...if we do not make the effort to change, then our roads seem closed.
