I just want to know why I would want to do this - I know HOW to... but I am unaware of features that I could find via this hookup.

  1. when u connect you phone to the comp via bluetooth, you can upload files for example backgrounds or music. its just a feature that lets you transfer your data from comp to phone or the other way around.

    hope it helps(:

  2. im sorry to tell u that almost every single phone on the verizon net work has bluetooth but to send files back and forth is called using blue tooth obex file transfer ---

i kno from personally experiance verizons software has locks and limits u from doing this- they kill  or remove the entire obex  option even tho u seem to feel u should be able to do it but its just not working why would they do this ???

ill tell u why cause if u cant get ur own personal ringtone onto the phone or theme file anything what do u end up being forced to do ????

buy it from them ....thats why they do that to u - the only way to pass files backand forth on most verizon phones is by using vast software provided and it has several limits to what u can actully do and most the time only allows u to put the file or what ever it is into the mem card ''not the phones main mem'' thus somtimes making it impossible for u to acheive certain things  u want to do --

i dont use verizon havnt for years but my gf does i havnt not personally had the chance to mess with a envy using bluetooth but im pretty sure thats ur problem

because blue tooth has ver 1.2 and 2.0 and some can do edr dont worry if u dont kno what that is

what im saying is every bluetooth thing device what ever has whats called a bluetooth profile its basicly the hardwares way of saying to other blutooth things hey this is what im able to do , i can send a file i can do dial up networking i can use bluetooth as a virtual port or i can do bluetooth printing and or bluetooth active sync connections

--- now verizons phones as far as ive ever seen thier bluetooth profiles are very restricted much like tmobiles sidekick it only allows u to send whats called a v-card and pair to a head set --- in my opinion it makes bluetooth on the device useless really --

keep in mind xp users with sp2 using a bluetooth dongle- will always have certain problems i remember never being able to do certain connections and stuff with my old xp pc -- but dont start thinking ohh thats my problem its not the problem lies in the hardware of ur phone its hard wired to say NO to ur pc - why u kno why ''MONEY''

ive had a phone say it has bluetooth but it just doesnt do jack c**p with my pc

the only real thing i can suggest as  real advice and this only applies to u if ur using windows vista cause xp has soo many diff issues -download windows mobile device center for vista

open it by finding it in ur control panel of ur pc note theres 2 green circles only one with the weird lines in it is the one u want, click device setting unclick usb connection and click connect by bluetooth --- ok now thats done exit out of it now... go to ur bluetooth setting of ur pc and make sure ur pc is set to be discoverable .... in windows xp this was the huge problem i always had cause xp would give me errors when trying to click appear as visable when i tryed to save the setting and exit .. vista hasnt done that to me thank god  now make ur phone find ur pc and connect to it make ur phone refreash the bluetooth services to find out what ur pc and phones bluetooth profile supports if u see active sync good if u see somthing like serial networking or somthing odd ur in for a h**l of a time to get it to connect and alot of trouble shooting most likly other wise connect to ur pc blah blah it will ask u a security pin code use 111 its easy to do , ull be prompted on the other device to enter the same pin do it b4 the connection times out .. it connects and is placed in ur pcs known list of bluetooth things right ok now that uve done that make sure ur pc didnt try to uncheck ur visability after u did that if it did make ur pc visable again ok now  what u do is open active sync on ur phone hopefully were talking pocket pc and then choose connect to what ever using bluetooth it may ask what device and bring up a menu u then choose ur pc  it should be listed some phones dont do this step and just plainly connect when it does ull hear ur pc go BUMPBUMP a weird sound like u pluged in some usb thing right that tells u it connected if it goes bump bump again it probably dissconnected and ull gunna have issues --

if not cool wait a min for ur pc to install the device driver fopr the phone itself it should do this all by it self when using windows vista after that ur windows mobile device center pops up  ull get a eula to agree click yes i agree and next and then a window pops up showing ur phone

if it doesnt do this for u but u hear it connect and it does work but no window pops up ull be able to find ur phone in the same folder as my computer where ur dvd cd drive should be if not it hasnt connected yet when it doesn a lil picture of a phone appears u click it and wah la ur inside ur phones file folders

-----sadly tho ull be lucky if that works for u --- bluetooth can be a very hard thing to mess around with - i personally use a bluetooth i bought from walmart it has its own install cd and program called blue soeil - i dont even use it id advise to try using ur pc systems bluetooth drivers with ur bluetooth peice b4 u go installing bluetooth software as this software was org made for older pcs and using the software messes up ur drivers somtimes for ur actual windows pc making problems like the one i stated b4 when i couldnt set my pc as discoverable

  3. By using bluetooth it connects wirelessly. That way you don't have to mess with the cables.
