Why would Palin encourage her 17 year old daughter?

To marry a 23 year old boyfriend? Apparantly they have been dating for over two years, which makes him a pedophile. My next questions would be A) Is he a cousin and B) Does he have any teeth?

I married at 17 and she was 15. I divorced her and married her 18 y/o classmate. I separated from her and lived with  a 25 y/o when I was 21/22. Then when I was 23 I moved another just barely 18 y/o in. Then a 23 at 25 then another 18 at 27 then married a 43 at 28 then shacked up again with a 37 at 33 then married an 18 at 35, finally I married a 32 at 36 and we are still together after 8 years. An obvious record for this serial monogamist that loves them old or young.

She doesnt want her daughter to be a single mom and the guy says he loves her and wants to marry her so why not. she wouldnt advise her to abort the baby, anyway, i doubt they are cosins and Im sure he has teeth

As for the teeth- I give up on the teeth.

Why not a Marriage? Bad judgment of the daughter?  The parents? Why? Who are we to say that? We are merely bystanders who have not lived the lives they live.

I have known a few elderly people who married at 16 in the 1920's and 30's and 40's. That was after the world wars.

They did ok.

Wish them luck. AT least the baby will be born within wedlock. OK?

It is our business when both McCain and now Palin have stated their goal to appoint conservative Supreme Court judges in order to see Roe v. Wade struck and reproductive choice rights eliminated in this country.

Other 16 yr old girls will find their rights and choices severely curtailed, not to mention funding cut to organizations that even just supply birth control, not to mention abortion counseling, if this pair gets into office.

Perhaps the Mc/P ticket should consider printing up some condoms to give out to drum up support .

I don't think so since he had s*x with her both voluntary is pedophilia.

I also think the age of consent in most states is at most 17. So she probably can have s*x with anyone being that she is 17. I mean here in NY it is 17 but in a lot of other states its lower.

And finally age doesn't matter in love. It realy doesn't. How many cases have adults married teenagers 10+ years younger and lived with them the rest of their lives? So many. I mean you can google it.

But he's not even that old. He's more her age.

Palin, or any other mother, SHOULD encourage her daughter to marry the one she loves.

I am more concerned about Palin saying she hasn't given the Iraq war issue much thought knwoing that her 18 year old son who is going to war there on september 11, 2008. She realy IS McCain's VP.

i think it was poor judgment on palins part to throw her hat in as a running mate to mccain. she knew her daughter was pregnant and would be the center of attention once it came out that she was and she had to know it would and if she didn't think it would then she is stupid. i think she should have protected her child from what is now national criticism by turning down the vp. but she put her career ahead of her child and now her child is gonna suffer the ridiculed  from it. i dont agree that she should be ridiculed just know that she will be. so i dont see how that speaks much for palins views on family values when she values her career far more then she does her child
