People are mostly concerned with survival. The republican party in my mind is about maintaining status quo demographically, monetarily and spiritually. Nothing wrong with that when you're on the winning team. So any confrontation of a sin being committed among their own is overlooked and shielded as the trials and tribulations of a modern day family. Their sin is commuted by those on their team. It's the other team that is ready to rip that scab off and expose and describe it as pus and filthy. The thing that disturbs me is that it's so blatent and yet matters so little. That is what makes me realize that it's about maintaining status quo versus morals. People almost have no conscience anymore. That inner voice that makes us feel shame for our behavior. Some people don't have much of one to begin with and the rest of us suffering from the atrophy of conscience just make those who don't bolder and bolder because we hardly can tell right from wrong anymore ourselves. So where will there be any sense of accountability? If a politician like Bob Ney steals from the constituents and serves his time, he probaly has no qualms about what he did because we've already forgotten about it. Mark Foley, That politician from Idaho, toe-tapping in a airport stall, etc. We've forgotten and forgiven so much c**p just in relatively recent history, how we going to begin to have a problem with Sarah Palin's daughter??

It is a tradition for the family to join the VP after the speech.  As the story tells us; the young couple planned to marry before they found out they were with child.  Just like millions of other young couples across this nation.
