She has five children including one with Down Syndrome. What was Senator McCain thinking when he made his final decision?

I question the Judgement of Senator McCain not his experience. Does he have the best Judgement to lead America. Senator Obama lacks experience but he has much better Judgement. Senator Joe Biden was a very good choice.

Sarah Palin needs to be home with all her Children and especially with the special needs Child. Todd Palin can't do the work of a devoted mother even if he is a stay at home Dad. Fathers and Mothers are totally different. Children rely heavily upon their Mother. That is just the way it is. I am not being sexist.

  1. Your ARE being sexist. If he picked a man with five children (one with Downs) people like you would not open their yaps about it at all.

  2. Not only are your comments sexist,  but they are also myopic.  You have no right -- nor her permission -- to comment on the quality of mothering delivered by Sarah Palin nor on the parenting delivered by her husband.

This woman is a mother; she is also a public figure.  She  can do both.

  3. Yea, Obama has such great judgement that he attended a racist church for what, 20 years?  You are an idiot and yes, you are being sexist.

  4. Your a pig.  A man (a father at that) can do just as good of a job as a mother.  They love and care for their children just as much as a mother.  Are you saying that a father cannot love their child as much as a mother?

  5. So he could get those 4 electoral votes.

  6. Election:

    Family values ( she's pro-life)

  7. Her husband & children will be living with her in the large VP house. They will probably take care of cooking, cleaning, child care all by themselves as they have done while she has been Governor. But the house comes with plenty of help, if you want it.

  8. Listen that poor little baby has enough to contend with and now you want to inflict 24 hour access to her voice on him too?

Leave the kid to the dad. At least he won't suffer industrial deafness from spending too much time exposure to his mother!

Now THAT would be child abuse.

  9. For "not being sexist", you sure come off that way.  She seems to be doing fine as Governor.  I'm sure she'll do fine as Vice President.

Question all you want to, it's a free country, thanks to people like John McCain.

  10. Why do you question a woman who has children with special needs when asked to run, but not a man?

Sounds like you are a little biased towards women or just a leftie that just can't handle the competition.

  11. you sexist pig. cuz she's a women with kids, she can't run for office. what women can't hold jobs and have kids. you wouldn't ask this if she were a man. i may not vote for her, but this is sexist adn disgusting question.

  12. I don't think it should matter if her kid has special needs. What I want to know is why he selected someone with little experience. Isn't that why him and the republicans have been bashing Obama?

  13. Did you see Palin's little girl last night...her face was saying, "Why is my mommy putting me through this?  I am just a little kid and should be in bed.  And, I miss my friends in Alaska.  I just want to go home."

I think it was a poor choice, especially when there were so many other options.

  14. Try to drag yourself into the 21 century.  Why wouldn't he pick a woman with a special needs child?  Your thinking is so antiquated it would be funny if it were not so sad.

I could write a book on Obama's poor judgment and lack of judgment.  But there are already several out there.

  15. Do you really think that Mr Palin is unqualified to be a good father to his children? I question your qualifications to judge others, especially since liberals & Democrats have a far higher marriage failure rate than conservatives & Republicans.

McCain picked Mrs Palin because she has the best qualifications to get the job done. Period. She accepted, much to the delight of true patriotic Americans.

You libs need to stop judging others by your own narrow, biased, and ever changing set of liberal double-standards.

    McCain / Palin 2008

  16. McCain has said he is 'saved'. Palin is a Christian Conservative.

Religious extremists have a hidden agenda. They want to enforce the  laws of their god and Bible above the Constitution of the United States.

The  American Idol Generation fall for the hype and smiles of McCain/Palin without realizing they will vote for true evil.

  17. it is her choice that she doesn't stay at home with her kids, if she wanted to be a 'stay at home mum' then she wouldn't have put herself forward in the first place or accepted it.

  18. Shameless pandering to the inability of Americans to separate reality from emotion.  She'll get the pity vote and the "same boat" vote.

  19. Well, apparently you have special needs yourself.

  20. Barefoot, in the kitchen, stay out of national politics? That's the message the Democrats have sent this year -- not the Republicans.

  21. Because his desperation clouded his judgment

  22. all of you saying this dude above me is being sexist are retarded, read the whole thing carefully before you get all up in arms, he's saying both mother and father figure need to take part in child rearing, at a younger age especially it's true, the mother figure plays a bigger role in the child becoming a whole well rounded human being... sheesh

and even more true is that she needs to be with her special needs child rather than taking second chair to this country's ruler.

  23. What Does Her Child Have anything to do with being VP? Nothing

Why Dont You stay home with your kids instead of working for a living? Why Dont all of these crazy politicians stay home instead of being out in affairs? What dont the current politicians stay home instead of being in office? My point is Stop watching Liberal Media.

  24. this question is dumb. her being a mother has nothing o do with it.

a better question is why did he base his entire campaign on obama's age and inexperience and then hire someone younger and less experienced than him? what a stupid move...

  25. Don't worry!  The two "hockey moms" in the White House can share the responsibilities of caring for baby Tick (or Trip or whatever Palin called him).  After all, Cindy McCain has a degree in special needs people, so she can understand both the child and John McCain better than most folks.

  26. Really?? when Bidens wife was killed he did not give up his political career for children....so whats the double standard? Biden was the ONLY parent...I think we have moved beyond the years of barfoot and pregnant.Saying a man can't raise a child IS being sexist.

  27. Gilbert! is that your mother calling??? YOUR so SPECIAL!!!!! If you didn't ride the short bus to school, you should have!!! President Bush has special needs and they still voted him in...Geesh, why not a down syndrome person or two in office? Couldn't do anymore damage then the fools who have already came went and are going!!! If only there was someone worthy of voting for...instead of the usual smucks!!!

  28. to give attention to people with disabilities - she said she would.

Why do people select the other side to give attention to minorities.

Senator Hillary is still the People's choice.

  29. Why not?? She is just as qualified as Obama who has NO experience. Her baby has nothing to do with her VP. She could have said no if she didn't think she could do it. Don't under estimate what a mother can do.

  30. I agree with you 100%!  This woman needs to put her children first.  One daughter is divorced, another is pregnant at 17 and, as you point out, she has a special needs baby at home.  What Obama may lack in experience, he makes up for in his clear judgement.  He had the courage to make an excellent choice in his running mate, rather than be swayed by sexism.   He will put the right people in place in his cabinet and exercise this same good judgement and courage as our president.  I also think that Hillary and Bill Clinton will still play a major role in helping to move this country forward, as Obama has said.

If McCain wanted to choose a woman, there are several fine female governors and congresswomen who would have made an excellent choice.  Instead, McCain went for the pretty face, as if any intelligent person would be swayed by this.  Obama is wise beyond his years, unlike McCain who has now shown himself to be a foolish old man.  Obama/Biden 2008!

  31. I'm a democrat, but I know lots of stay at home dads.  I do think when a person is running for major public office the other spouse needs to be ready to step up to the plate and pick up the slack at home, whether he/she is a man or a woman.  First ladies have made sacrifices to allow their spouses to run for office.  First men could do the same.
