Question:

Why would a cat suddenly wet the bed??

My cat is about 5 years old & he has begun wetting my bed...

Its happened twice now, both times at 3.30 a.m., about a week apart... this behaviour is VERY UNUSUAL for him - he's NEVER pee'd in the house before...

Both times his window was wide open for him to go outside, and even on the odd occasion in the past when his window was closed by mistake, he's kept it in until the morning!?

Any ideas!? There have been no changes in his life, i.e. we haven't moved recently, there are no new additions to the family (pets or humans)...

  1. My dog does this. The vet tested his urine and he had lots of infections. He's on two weeks of antibiotics right now to see if the problem is solved. If it isn't, but the infection is cleared up, then they will put him on medicine to help him control himself...many older dogs need this medication.

  2. He could have a urinary tract infection. There also may have been a new male cat around your neighborhood which may cause him to mark his territory.

  3. Wel alot of time cats tend to do that as they get older, both my cats did this, i recomend you take your cat to a vet to make sure everything is ok because sometime things like that can happen because of a medical problem, it happened to my cat.  but dont worry its not deadly!
