I got pulled over for speeding. The cop flirted with me, was stern, and gave me a warning. He said he never gives warnings. I thought he was a good cop. He explained why speeding was such a problem in that area. I wrote the chief a compliment for his file stating that the officer was professional, detail oriented, and committed to protecting all citizens. The chief sent an email to me thanking me for writing and said the letter would be placed in the officer's personal file.

I saw the cop after I sent the compliment. He remembered who I was and looked at me like I was the biggest jerk. I thought I did something really nice and helpful for his record, but he was not appreciative at all.

What do you think his problem was?

  1. There might be a few reasons. When you made the comment, the chief more than likely gave the cop a hard time. It sounds ridiculous, but a police station is one big sausage fest and all they do is ride each other's a**es all day long. Another reason might be that the chief realized the cop gave you a warning, and reprimanded him for it, especially if they are trying to crack down in that area.

But in all honesty, he was probably teased for letting a pretty woman get off free. I wouldn't be surprised if the chief blew up your letter and posted it all around the station. That would have been hilarious and obviously annoying for the cop.

Forget about it, cops are not what you think they are.
