Why would a private (not publicly traded) company choose to do a 10 to 1 reverse stock split?

  1. Doesn't matter each owner will just have fewer shares worth more each.

    Maybe they are going public and have millions of outstanding shares and want to have fewer.

    Reverse splits are usually because the value is so low it looks silly like penny stocks.
