    The skin of a salamander is permeable to water, so adding salt to its back will remove water from its body by osmosis, which will possibly be fatal.

  4. i think its because amphibians skin changes and develops glands to avoid dehydration so putting salt on it dehydrates them. just like if we eat salty stuff it make you thirsty but we dont die from it

  5. Being an amphibian, salamanders are unusually vunerable since their skin is so permeable. You could possibly kill one by just having soap on your hands.
