Question:

Why would a veterinarian need to speak with the pathologist to "verify test results"?

This is what I was told when I called for the results. Would this definatley mean something bad showed up????

  1. Nope, it means the vet has a question about the path report.  Lots of things can make a particular test "borderline" -- your vet is asking for a clarification.  Or it could be that the vet had retained a second sample, perhaps of a different tissue or fluid,  for additional testing and has now submitted it.


  2. Nooooo - I have a little dog who is diabetic.  Every six months, I take her in, blood is drawn, other tests are performed and a pathologist reads the results.  It's normal in humans AND pets.  A doctor only prescribes WHAT tests to take, WHAT medications to relieve the symptoms, etc.

  3. It probably doesn't have ANYTHING to do with you being a vegitarian. This doesn't mean anything bad showed up, but it does mean that whatever she has to say is important.

    And btw, just because your a vegitarian doesn't mean that you're ammune to sickness. It also doesn't mean you're prone to it.
