why would an animal that lives in a cold climate have more unsaturated triacylglycerols in its body fat than an animal that lives in a warmer climate?

  2. It is probably so that it can build its food source in the fall, and use it in the winter to keep warm (probably while hibernating).  

  3. because unsatd triacylgylcerols or basically unsatd fats dont solidify or freeze easily compared to satd fats even at a very low temperature. it acts like an antifreeze in extremely cold wheather.  as an evolutionary adaptation, those animals should have more unsatd fats.
