  1. I would be afraid that this hallucination I was having was a symptom of some serious illness.

  2. depends how it happened. if you anticipated it first, i reckon youd be more afraid.... and people get scared because it is para-normal.... its not something they see everyday, or even at all. i think its society... what we were bought up in... that ghosts arent real blah blah blah... that makes us become afraid to see it.... you know..?? i have asked for many visions and visitaions and have sensed it was about to happen... i want it more than anything, for further proof through my own eyes... but bam! i get scared, and pull out of the experience before i see anything. silly really lol

  3. I usually snark, but this is a fantastic question.

I've met many, lets shall we say, "past" family members. I dream about them. Mostly.

Sometimes the dreams aren't, well, idyllic. Sometimes they're nightmares. Meeting a disappointed rotting relative describing your faults is...........unsettling.

I don't believe in ghosts, but I sleep with the lights on occasionally.

  4. It's not the dead  you have to worry about, it's the living that scare me.  Especially those guy's in big SUV's blowing through red lights when talking on their cell phone.

  5. It can be a little freaky to talk to someone you can't see, so yes, I'll admit to having been spooked at one time.  But yeah, for me the comfort far outweighs that it's spooked me. :)

  6. I think most of the people who are afraid have a fear of the unknown. They either do not believe in spirit life or in denial about the possibility of it existing.

If a person who believes feels afraid I am more likely to believe it is shock rather than anything else. Once the shock wears of it is totally different.

I know that it was comforting and warming to me, but I believe in a spiritual afterlife.

  7. It would depend upon the circumstances -- how the appearance was made. If it happened in a non-threatening manner, perhaps at a time of grief, yes, it could be comforting.

If it was the horror movie situation of a dark and stormy night with all the suspense building up, THEN the spirit appears, it would probably scare the pants off of me.

  8. Been there, done that!! It is NOT the fact that it is a beloved person or pet that usually scares a person. It is because this usually happens very unexpectedly and its the event itself that will scare a person. If a spirit is strong enough to hang around long enough for seer to get over the schock....it will be a pleasant expierence. Its kinda like thinking you are alone somewheres and all the sudden you hear your hubby/child saying something from nearby when you THOUGHT you were alone. Their voice will startle/scare you at first, but as soon as your brain registers who it is....the fear passes.

  9. No! not at all ! If they r close 2 u then how can they hurt u?

  10. I wasn't afraid when it happened to me.   It was a comforting, sweet experience.  I suppose it would be frightening to some since it is  unexpected and  a bit unnerving.  I've had this happen several times over the years, and it's wonderful each time.

  11. I have had my father come to me in a dream. I actually have a "passed on" cat who lives with me and appears frequently. We also feel her rubbing on our legs. One of our present cats plays with her sometimes.

I don't think there is any reason to be afraid of any spirit. I usually try to find out why they are there and how I can help.

  12. I think most creatures are hard-wired to fear things they don't understand or aren't familiar with.  That's why dogs bark.  This fear also explains discrimination against outsiders.

  13. after the shock wore off i would just talk to my grandma but i mean it would be so scary at first.

and a pet would freak me out a whole lot more.

it would have to act friendly and fast.

    ever seen pet cemetary...lol

but seriously you hardly ever hear of dead pets comeing back.

  14. It's scary, especially if they caught you off guard, and startle you. But once they speak it becomes comforting.

I had a pet come back, I didn't see it just felt it's presence.

My grandmothers dog came back, she saw it a few times, it acted as if it didn't know it was dead...my older brother seen it too.
