Question:

Why would anyone still drive an SUV?

People vehemently defend them and act like it is a symbol of wealth. THAT is laughable. When's the last time anyone went by and said, "OH WOW! Look at that Hummer! They must be loaded." please. More like what an idiot.

This is just ONE stupid argument I've heard. Then there's the need to haul kids around. And you never see kids in most SUVs. Most arguments for them seem chalked with contradictions. Then when it is pointed out to them, they start screaming about, "Jealousy, freedoms, and rights." Pathetic arguments.

  1. I drive a Ford Excursion with a 6 inch lift and huge asss Mickey Thompson mud swamper Tires....I get about 3mpg.  I drive just to p**s off Hippie losers who think the world is going to end becasue I am using more gas.

  2. why would anyone still drive a suv,.... well why not?

  3. I drive an SUV. More specifically a Jeep Cherokee on 33 inch tires. Because this is America and I can. It also fits in well with a variety of my hobbies. If someone thinks I'm wealthy because of it then they are stupid.  And it makes you self righteous prius or electric car driving hippies angry. Drive what you want and let other people drive what they want. We can all choose what we like and that makes the country great. And while I may not agree with your choice I'll fight to the death for your right to make it. And that most definitely separates me from you.

  4. You name a car that can fit me, my wife, our kid, two dogs, three full baseball bags, 5gallon bucket of balls and catchers equipment inside of it. Name one car that can get me though a field of mud and ice. Name one car that you would feel safe getting on to the highway when there is 4" of ice and 4" of snow in top of the ice (that day the only cars I saw were buried under the ice). Its a Sports Utility Vehicle and they are make to do what your little compact cant do like get out of a ditch.

  5. He's right there is no need for someone who doesn't really need it to have one. Like the Olsen twins, they are tiny and they drive a range rover. I doubt they can even see over the steering wheel.

  6. I drive an SUV (not a Hummer)  for a number of reasons and none are as a status symbol.

First, because it's paid for and serves many purposes.

My wife and I originally got it because we had just bought our first home and needed a truck-like vehicle to haul some things we needed.

We liked that it could keep our purchases dry if it started raining (we live in FL), too.

It's finally paid for, so that's another reason I drive it.

Also, my wife has a wheelchair that she needs to use sometimes and the wheelchair fits in it.

Please try not to judge so hastily.

  7. how do you feel about blown big blocks that blow flames out the exhaust...I'm thinking i have a car or two that would just ruin your day...i drive them just to anger silly people

  8. You are ignorant.

  9. I CAN'T WAIT TO GET INTO MY ESCALADE AFTER SHOPPING FOR FUR TODAY LOL!

  10. Because my SUV can haul 5 people comfortably, has 4WD to get me around in the snow, has great ground clearance and gets 25 MPG.

  11. I don't see it as a sign of wealth either, it's more like, "wow, how much can this person be in debt!"... I am one of those people. I own a mid-size SUV myself, one that my Husband and I use regularly when we take long trips. We live in Southern California and often visit family in Northern California, so it make sense for us to have a car that size that will carry all of our load including our children.

On regular days, especially work days for short commute we have our sedan to take us around. It's better to have one car you're still paying for to build up your credit and have one that you actually own.

  12. I wonder this too when I see Hummers and large SUVs. I see it as irresponsible. With all this concern about the environment and our obsession with gas it seems stupid. We have one vehicle, mini-van. My husband rides the bus to work. We get along just fine.  : )

Some of these posts are showing the stupidity and immautrity of SUV drivers.

  13. I would drive mine if it didn't drink sooo much gasoline...6mpg

    i LOVE the intimidation factor....

when you see my bumper overhang your trunk lid in your civic, and my front tires are taller than your roof, you might be inclined to get out of my way...

    i'd also add that i have a 67 tempest/gto with a 6.6...

i drive it in the summer, and it get's around 8 mpg

  14. Your just jealous ! Get back in your yugo and drive.
