  1. For fame and money.

  2. Guess why we have no worthy candidates, with the, merely possible, exception of Obama- a scarily untried politician but alas the only worthy candidate available. When everyone makes it their business to scour through the dirty laundry of all contenders and begins to judge them like an all-knowing God then, surely we are all limited by a severe lack of viable alternatives. Doesn't this seem a reasonable assumption? Or am I freaking whacked?

  3. well you get advantages like you get to fly airforce one anytime and you can visit any country for free you still get payed after presidency you still get to fly in airforce one after presidency even if you get impeached there is alot more too plus you get power

  4. People want to do it for power, but the average american would wish actually for change. Not this fake Obama Change but real genuine change.

    Knowledge is power!

  5. It is but it takes a special kind of person that wants to be in a history book, get great book deals, adoration from millions, speeches after they are out of office that make millions. It's not so much the job, its all the perks you get. Then throw in a nice big juicy retirement plan.

  6. because that person can not do anyother good thing

  7. A lot of it has to do with power. Power can be addictive. Additionally, politicians, especially one with as much power as the president, make a lot more money than you think, both from the taxpayers, and from the connections they make.

Think of it this way, not only does the president, once no longer president, make several hundred thousand a year salary, they also make millions from books deals and speaking tours, and they get 20 or 30 thousand a month for offices and staff, etc. Bill Clinton has made several hundred million since leaving office. If someone paid me that kind of money, they could say whatever they wanted about me.

But also, wouldn't you like to be one of the most powerful people in the world, and know all the things that happen, and ever had happened? FBI files, all the other classified info out there that the average individual doesn't have access to. I'd say those are huge incentives.

  8. It's all about the  POWER, POWER, POWER.

Total control over other people's lives.

    It gets them going.
