Why would camel spiders be in our house?

I live in sierra vista, AZ. I have heard of camel spiders, being that they live in the desert, they are seen here on occasion. Although they are not as common as most other spiders, they have definitely been known to be spotted around here. However, the times I have heard of that, it has been outside in the desert where they belong. My cats have found two of them in the house my husband and I are in. I am curious as of to why I have never heard of anyone else seeing them inside their houses, yet we've managed to have two within two weeks in here. One was almost 3 inches long the other maybe an inch and a half but they were definitely camel spiders. I've done research on them and I've seen that they can be bigger than that, but aren't usually as big in the states as they are overseas.

Anyway, the main thing is why would they keep coming in the house. We are clean and don't leave food out or the cat litter box dirty! I just want to know what I can do to stop this. Thanks!!!!!

There are many details still missing from your question: what type of house do you live in? where is it located? where in the house did you find them? these are all important questions.

I got goosebumps reading this.  I've seen a video of a camel spider eating a lizard.  I think they're coming in from the heat.   Good Luck!

The article mentions checking your house for access where pipes enter.  I also wounder if your cats are bringing them in from outside.  They would hang around houses because of the shade and it would also be a good area to hunt their prey who would also find an oasis in the desert desirable.
